FAQ

OUR MOST COMMONLY ASKED QUESTIONS AND ANSWERS:

Are the balloons ordered inflated? Most balloons on our website are priced to include inflation.  Packages of balloons that do not include inflation will be noted as such in the description field.

How long will my balloons float with helium? Many factors affect balloon float time.  Latex balloons sold at The Party Store are treated with a special sealant called Hi-Float to maximize the float time and will usually look best for the first 3-4 days.  Foil balloons can easily float more than a week - it all depends where you place them and the room temperature they are placed in.

Helium is sensitive to temperature changes. Cold air causes the helium to shrink, which makes the balloon appear deflated, although it still floats. Heat can cause the helium to expand and the balloon to burst. Latex balloons are also sensitive to light, and balloons of any kind are weakened by dirt and dust. Therefore, the best place to store a helium balloon is a cool, dark room absent of wind and dust.

What is Hi-Float? Hi-Float is a liquid sealant used to coat the interior surface of latex balloons and reduces the speed at which helium escapes through the latex skin. It can increase the float time by several days. Hi-Float is non-toxic and water soluble.

Does my balloon come with a weight? Balloons in the "Balloon Bouquets" category all include a weight as well as a transport bag.  If you order individual balloons you will also need to choose a weight and a transport bag to make sure you don't lose them or have them pop during transport from our store to your event.

Can I have my balloons delivered a day before my event? Yes! Our balloons generally look best for the first 3-4 days, so you can easily have them delivered (or picked up) the day before your event.  Just be sure to store them properly over nightAir-filled balloons generally last for a couple of weeks and are a great option when you need really long lasting designs.

Can I reuse my Foil Balloons? It is possible to re-use most foil balloons but we cannot guarantee that it will work every time as they are fairly delicate but it is worth a try. Expel the air from your balloon by inserting a long straw quite a distance into the self-sealing valve, the air will then start to come out and you can flatten and fold your balloon.

What happens if my balloons arrive damaged? We do everything we can to ensure that your delivery will arrive as promised.  Balloons do pop on occasion and sometimes a balloon that looks great when inflated can become deflated after a few hours.  We inflate deliveries ahead of time to ensure we can catch any defective balloons but if one does deflate during transport in our vehicle we will refund the value of that balloon. Once your balloons are delivered, we are not responsible for damages or losses.

How far in advance should I place my order? 48 hours is recommended for all balloon orders.  Ordering 5 days or more in advance is best to ensure we have stock available on the specific product you want.

Can I choose an exact delivery time for my order? We offer either morning or afternoon deliveries - we cannot guarantee the time of delivery as many factors can influence your delivery time (traffic, accident etc.).  If you have a specific request (i.e. nobody is home until 5pm, it must be there before 9:30, etc.), it is best to call the store and pre-arrange your delivery before placing the order.

What are the payments method for online orders? We accept Visa, MasterCard and PayPal payments. We do not accept payments by cheques, money orders, or direct bank transfers.

When will I be charged? You will be charged once your order is placed.

What to bring when you pickup your order: Anyone can pick up your order for you - we will require the person to confirm the name and the phone number listed on your order form.
